Meet Olivier
Currently studying International Business in Utrecht, Olivier first joined Erve Europe as an intern, where he worked across multiple departments including CSR, Branding & Licensing, Marketing and E-commerce.
“No day was the same. I could join meetings with well-known brands, learn from every colleague and experience how a truly international company operates.”
After successfully completing his internship, Olivier continued working remotely for the group alongside his studies. Together with Michele and Martijn, the idea emerged to continue his journey at Beconnected Shanghai.
Two years later, that ambition became reality.
Today, Olivier is based in Shanghai, where he supports CSR projects, retailer development, sourcing initiatives and factory visits while simultaneously completing his thesis on sustainability reporting.
Experiencing Shanghai
After one month in China, Olivier has already discovered much more than just a new workplace.
“The people are incredibly friendly, the city is super organized and there is always something new to discover. I live together with other Europeans, we explore the city, visit temples and enjoy the amazing local food.”
Alongside his work, Olivier is also taking Chinese language lessons and learning more about the production side of the business.
Growing together
For Olivier, what makes Erve special is its culture.
“You really feel that everyone can contribute. The hierarchy is flat, people support each other and there is a lot of trust. I have the freedom to learn and to find my own way of working.”
Excited for BLE and Beyond
His journey from Amsterdam to Shanghai reflects one of Erve's core values: creating opportunities for young talent to develop internationally while remaining part of one connected team.
